On 29–30 March 2014, 金王八幡宮 (Konno Hachimangu) ran its annual 金王桜まつり — one of the shrine’s two big public weekends alongside the autumn grand festival. Shibuya Channel billed the shrine as a neighborhood power spot and the blossom as a Shibuya-ku natural monument nicknamed among the Edo three famous cherries: rare branches mixing single and double blossoms on the same spray.
Contemporary notes put festival turnout around 5,000 across ages and nationalities.

What filled the grounds
Local food stalls — oden, yakitori, tonjiru, cotton candy, freshly pounded mochi — sat beside live koto and violin sets. The kagura-den hosted free karaoke, called out as a crowd favorite. Event social pointed to the Facebook page for 大和魂まつり in 金王八幡宮.
The shrine sits a short walk from scramble footfall — blossom weekends thicken the same basin you can watch on the Shibuya Crossing live camera. Festival days still need a trip budget; start with average trip to Japan cost.
