On Saturday, 21 March 2014, THE GUEST cafe & diner opened on the seventh-floor restaurant deck of Shibuya PARCO Part 1. Its first collaboration — and the headline that drew queues before opening day — was Kiki & Lala Café, Sanrio’s Little Twin Stars rendered as a full-service themed dining room. For the Kanto region, it was billed as the characters’ first dedicated café outing of that scale.
Shibuya Channel attended the preview on Friday, 20 March, one day before public service began. Menus, pop-up dates, and tenant rotations at PARCO change constantly; treat everything below as a 2014 record, not a current guide.
THE GUEST as a collaboration shell
THE GUEST was designed as a rotating collaboration venue rather than a single permanent concept. Kiki & Lala Café occupied the opening slot, which explains why exterior signage, interior graphics, and plate styling all locked to one Sanrio property at once. The room’s job was immersion: twin-star motifs on walls, furniture, and packaging so the café functioned as both restaurant and photo set.
That format matched how PARCO’s upper floors already mixed dining with event traffic — visitors who came for character goods could stay for a sit-down meal without leaving the building.
Food menu — twin motifs on the plate
Savory dishes leaned on color pairing and pun-heavy Japanese naming translated here by function:
- Little Twin Stars Hamburger Plate (¥1,350) — beef patty burger and salmon burger on one plate.
- Blue Vongole and Pink Prosciutto Twin Pasta (¥1,300) — clam vongole standing in for Kiki’s blue side; prosciutto cream pasta for Lala’s pink side.
- Juicy Sausage and Starry-Sky Cheese Pancake (¥1,450) — star-shaped pancake with cheddar cheese sauce and sausage made from pure Chiba pork.
- Lala’s Proud Clam Chowder (¥980) — the top savory pick that day, loaded with vegetables and seafood.
Sweet plates extended the star vocabulary:
- Kiki and Lala Fluffy Sweet Pancake (¥1,450) — whipped cream in twin colors with a large star garnish.
- Magic Roll Cake from the Star Wand (¥980) — strawberry flavor.
- Dream Nebula Lemon Tart (¥980) — tied to Little Twin Stars story beats.
- Tropical Star Waffle (¥1,350) — French-toast-style waffle.
Ordering any food item came with an original illustrated paper placemat — a small collectible layer on top of the meal.
Drinks, color tricks, and five coasters
The drink list mixed character latte art and soda theatrics:
- Honey Milk Chai, Kiki☆Latte, Lara☆Latte — ¥650 each, with character art in the foam.
- Lala’s Sweet Soda and Kiki’s Dreamy Soda — ¥680 each.
- Peach Sangria — Lake of Konpeito — ¥880.
- Magical Sweet Tea (¥680) — mallow herb tea that shifted from blue to pink in the glass; coverage also claimed skin-care and pollen-season benefits in typical café-marketing language.
Original drinks shipped with illustrated coasters. The piece urged fans to collect all five designs while the pop-up lasted.
Shop corner and the Care Bears tie-in
A shop inside the café sold official Kiki & Lala merchandise plus café-only exclusives in limited quantities — the usual scarcity prompt for character retail.
From Friday, 4 April through Monday, 21 April 2014, Parco Museum on Part 1’s third floor hosted Kiki & Lala × Care Bears Exhibition (10:00–21:00; final day closed 18:00). Admission was free. Address: 15-1 Udagawachō, Shibuya PARCO Part 1 3F. That exhibition turned a café visit into a two-stop Sanrio afternoon inside the same complex.
